The producer prices of industrial products were 1.4% lower in September 2024 than in September 2023. In August 2024, the year-on-year change rate stood at -0.8%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that producer prices in September 2024 were down 0.5% on August 2024.

Lower energy prices were the main reason for the year-on-year decline in producer prices also in September 2024, while higher prices had to be paid for capital, consumer and intermediate goods.
