The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the Republic of Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was signed on 3rd March 2023 in Abu Dhabi.
The CEPA entered into force on 1st September 2023.
Within the framework of the Agreement, a wide coverage of areas of cooperation such as trade in goods, trade in services, investment facilitation, intellectual property, technical barriers to trade, rules of origin, trade policy defense instruments are regulated with detailed provisions.
The Agreement also provides for a dispute settlement mechanism to resolve potential disputes. The Agreement also creates a bilateral preferential area for SMEs and economic cooperation.
With the Partnership Agreement, 80% of all tariff lines were included in the scope of concessions for market access in trade in goods.
CEPA is envisaged to be the most powerful instrument for maximizing the trade volume and investments between the two countries.
